Drunk Police Officer Crushes Siblings To Death In Osun

A family in Osun state has been thrown into mourning following the death of their children occasioned by a driver of a police truck.
The Punch reports that the incident happened in llesa area of the state on Sunday, after an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) crushed the siblings to death while they were playing in front of their parents’ house.
According to reports, the allegedly drunk driver of the vehicle rammed into an electric pole in front of the residence, before crushing the kids to death.
The deceased, Sade and Aanu, were said to be about five and three years old respectively.
This incident has thrown the entire neighbourhood into mourning as sympathisers, especially okada riders, gave the vehicle a hot chase but he escaped with the APC.
The ‘A’ Division Police Station at Ayeso was subsequently attacked by the sympathisers, who vandalised all the police operational vehicles parked in the station, alongside other valuable property and police quarters inside the station.
Unperturbed by the tear gas canisters and gun shots fired into the air by the policemen on duty, the mob kept up with their mission before leaving the station.
The policemen were also reported to have denied the apparently torn father of the kids the corpses of his late infants.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro, informed that the policeman who drove the APC lost control and hit an electric pole which eventually electrocuted the kids.
