Unbelievably, but the people of Betul village in Madhya Pradesh, India perform the stomach-turning ritual for centuries and are not ready to abandon it.
The practice occurs a day after Diwali — one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. It signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.
