An angry mob of around 100 people brutally attacked a head of the family for allegedly eating beef, Bisara, Delhi, India.
A Muslim
father was beaten to death with bricks by a mob following rumours that
his family was eating cand storing cow’s meat. The incident took place
in a small village on the outskirts of Delhi after a slaughtered calf
was found near a transformer.

As
the names of the perpetrators were not given, locals became suspicious
of two Muslim families living in the area. After not finding one family
at home they headed to Mohammad Ikhlaq’s home, dragged him and his son
Danish out to beat them in public.

While
some of them were wrecking the house, others beat Ikhlaq, his son,
daughter, elderly mother and wife with sticks and bricks. When the
police arrived the 52-year-old was already dead, his son is now in
critical condition in hospital.

Eight people
have been arrested and two are on the run, police are now searching for
those who spread the rumour leading to the blood-curdling attack and
murder. The meat taken by police from the family’s fridge for forensic
examination appeared to be mutton.

In
the religion of Hinduism a cow is thought to be a sacred animal,
they honor all creatures. Cow slaughtering is only legal in two Indian
states, while killing a cow and eating its meat in other states is
considered to be a sin and a breach of law.
