A man strangled and dismembered his wife,
tied himself to a concrete block with her head inside to drown himself
in a lake, Traunsee Austria.
A bloodcurdling incident came to light only when a local resident found a floating suitcase near the shore of lake and called the police, who opened it to discover the woman’s dismembered body parts inside.
Another suitcase was found on Monday, January 4, however, the woman’s identity was not established as her head was missing.
Austrian authorities extended the area of search and found the man’s body with his hands weighed down by bags of stones at the bottom of the lake.
Acording to police divers, the woman’s head, in her 70s, was in a block of concrete which was attached to the man’s hand.
Forensic experts didn’t find any signs of struggle on the man’s body and the case is being treated as murder and suicide.
The bodies are yet to be identified, the investigation continues.
